Warum kommen keine Benachrichtigungen?

Einstellungen → Sprache.

Frequently asked

How do I set my callsign and location?

A short assistant helps on first launch. Later, anytime via the gear icon at the top right. “Locate via GPS” fills in your Maidenhead locator and place name automatically; you can also edit everything by hand.

On the road the app shows a different place than at home.

That is intended: with Settings → Location → Use actual location (GPS) the whole app works from your current position – home screen, Cockpit, forecasts, maps, satellites, repeaters, tropo and sporadic E. Switch it off and your home locator applies everywhere. Log, widgets and watch always stay with the home locator.

“Ask Ionaut” does not appear or does not answer.

Ask Ionaut, logging a contact from a sentence and reading paper QSLs use Apple Intelligence on the device. That is available on iPhone 15 Pro and newer and on iPads with an M chip, when Apple Intelligence is switched on in iOS Settings. Without it the rest of the app works unchanged; the contact entry then recognises fixed patterns.

Why don’t I get notifications?

Enable notifications in Settings. For background alerts, iOS Background App Refresh must be allowed (iOS Settings → General → Background App Refresh). iOS decides the actual frequency.

The map doesn’t load.

The zoomable map loads tiles from the internet on first view. A rough overview is then available offline. Terminator, grey zone and sun position are always computed locally.

How do I change the language?

Settings → Language. Available: German, English, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, French, Spanish, Polish, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Danish, Russian, Korean, Ukrainian, Greek, Czech, Indonesian, Hungarian, Romanian, Hebrew, Turkish, Catalan, Estonian, Filipino, Hindi, Lithuanian, Latvian, Vietnamese, Thai, Slovak, Croatian, Slovenian, Bulgarian, Malay, Afrikaans, Icelandic, Macedonian, Belarusian, Bengali and Urdu – more to come.

Reset CW learning progress?

In the CW trainer, via the gear icon → “Reset learning progress”.

Widgets, lock screen and Live Activities

Add a Ionaut widget to your home or lock screen. Use Edit widget to pick the content: space weather & bands, grayline, DX forecast, clock/QTH, EME window or sporadic E. You can start space weather, the tropo situation, a satellite pass or the next grey-zone window as a Live Activity in the app – it then counts down on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island.

Apple Watch

The Watch app has four swipeable pages: space weather, grayline, DX forecast and clock/QTH. Your callsign and location come from the iPhone automatically. The DX page fills in once you have opened the DX forecast on the iPhone. For the watch face there are three complications: bands, tropo and ISS pass.

Siri and Shortcuts

“Band conditions in Ionaut”, “Tropo in Ionaut” and “Next ISS pass in Ionaut” work without setup and are also available in the Shortcuts app.
